Who We Are

myPerx is a customer loyalty and rewards application operated by Perx Technologies. We connect customers with merchants to make earning and redeeming rewards simple and transparent.

When this policy refers to “we”, “us”, or “our”, it means Perx Technologies as the operator of the myPerx platform.

Information We Collect

We collect information you give us directly and information generated as you use the app.

Information you provide:

  • Full name and display name
  • Email address and phone number
  • Date of birth (where required for age-restricted rewards)
  • Profile photo (optional)
  • Communications you send us via support or feedback forms

Information generated through use:

  • Points earned, rewards redeemed, and campaign participation history
  • Merchant visits and scan timestamps
  • Referral and invite activity
  • In-app interactions such as taps, screen views, and feature usage
  • Device type, operating system, and app version
  • IP address and approximate location (city or region level)
  • Push notification preferences and engagement

We do not collect precise GPS location unless you explicitly grant that permission and a specific feature requires it.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your myPerx account
  • Calculate, record, and display your points balance and reward history
  • Process reward redemptions and validate campaign eligibility
  • Send service notifications, reward alerts, and campaign updates
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and duplicate account activity
  • Respond to support requests and resolve disputes
  • Improve and personalise the app experience
  • Analyse usage patterns to develop new features
  • Comply with legal and regulatory obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal information on the following grounds:

  • Contract: to deliver the services you signed up for, including points tracking and reward fulfilment
  • Legitimate interests: to operate the platform safely, prevent fraud, and improve our services
  • Consent: for optional communications such as promotional offers, where you have opted in
  • Legal obligation: where we are required by law to retain or disclose information

Sharing Your Information

We share your information only where necessary to operate the platform:

  • Merchants: when you scan at a merchant location, that merchant receives a confirmation of your visit and points awarded. They do not receive your full profile or contact details unless you choose to share them.
  • Service providers: we work with trusted third parties for hosting, analytics, push notifications, and customer support. These providers access your data only to perform services on our behalf and are bound by confidentiality obligations.
  • Legal authorities: we may disclose information where required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of users or the public.
  • Business transfers: in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services.

If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain records for legal, tax, or fraud prevention purposes.

Anonymized and aggregated data — which cannot identify you — may be retained indefinitely for analytical purposes.

Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you are located, you may have the following rights:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Object to or restrict certain types of processing
  • Withdraw consent for optional communications at any time
  • Receive a copy of your data in a portable format

Cookies and Tracking

myPerx is a mobile application and does not use browser cookies.

We use lightweight analytics tools to understand how the app is used. These tools collect anonymized, aggregated data and do not track you across third-party applications or websites.

Children's Privacy

myPerx is not directed at children under the age of 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If we become aware that a child has registered without parental consent, we will delete the account promptly. If you believe a child has registered, please contact us at hello@perx.mv.

Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including encrypted data transmission, access controls, and regular security reviews.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. While we take reasonable precautions, we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.

International Transfers

Perx operates from the Republic of Maldives. Your information may be processed or stored on servers located in other countries as part of our hosting and service provider arrangements.

Where data is transferred outside your home country, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with applicable law.

myPerx may display links to merchant websites or third-party services. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those external sites or services.

We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you access through the app.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of the page and notify you via the app or email if the changes are material.

Continued use of myPerx after an update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
